Crying for Mercy
Read: Psalm 6:1-10
Sometimes repentance includes the pain of consequences.
But even in discipline, God remains merciful.
David cries out:
“Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am faint.” Psalm 6:2 (NIV)
God never rejects a humble cry for mercy.
Repent
Where am I experiencing the consequences of my choices?
Reflect
Pray a simple prayer:
“Lord, have mercy on me.”
Repeat it slowly several times.
Receive
Ephesians 2:4–5 – But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)
