Recap:

Living Proof Church didn’t begin in a building. It started around a campfire with a handful of people and zero plans. No desire to be the lead guy, just a willingness to show up. And somehow, God took that simple obedience and built something only He could build.

It’s wild what happens when people step out in faith with nothing but a yes.

This season has been one of watching God move in ways that don’t make sense on paper, campuses growing in rural towns, hundreds being baptized, lives being changed. And yet the truth remains: no one really knows what they’re doing. But when God shows up, that’s more than enough.

This message starts off a series called The Invisible War, because that’s exactly what this is. Not just a church service. Not just singing and preaching. It’s war. A war that doesn’t start on stage or in the seats, but in hearts, in minds, in quiet moments when no one is watching.

Too many are losing battles because their walk with God is more of a Sunday experience than an all-week lifestyle.

The story in Exodus 2 came alive in a new way. A mom, facing death, makes a basket for her son and pushes him down a river. That’s not just parenting, that’s extreme faith. Faith that says, “This is all I have, and I’m giving it to God.”

What if faith looked more like that? What if the only thing standing in the way of breakthrough was the refusal to start building? Too many excuses. Not enough obedience.

Sometimes, the only reason the enemy is attacking isn’t because of the past, but because of what’s ahead. That invisible war is real. And while the enemy whispers, “You’re disqualified,” God is saying, “I’ve chosen you.”

It’s easy to carry around a yoke for so long, it starts to feel normal. Sin. Shame. Pride. Pain. Even good things, like strength or talent, can become heavy when they’re carried alone. But Jesus didn’t die so that people could keep dragging their old chains around while sitting in church week after week. He came to break them off.

There’s a moment in Moses’ story that hits hard. He tells God, “I can’t speak well.” And God doesn’t say, “I’ll fix it.” He says, “I’ll send help.” Not every weakness gets removed. Some stay, so dependence stays, too. Because that’s where faith grows.

  • Make the basket, do the prep work.
  • Stop waiting for perfect resources or perfect outcomes.
  • Live in forgiveness, toward others, and especially toward yourself.
  • Let go of pride and get real.

God uses the most unexpected things, weaknesses, gifts, even wounds, for His glory. But only when they’re surrendered. Some of the most dangerous lies aren’t the obvious ones. They’re the quiet ones whispered in moments of insecurity: “That gift’s too small. That calling’s too risky. Someone else could do it better.”

But obedience isn’t about outcomes. It’s about trust.

So today, with hands lifted and hearts wide open, a line was drawn. The yoke doesn’t have to go home with anyone. Not this time. Not today.

Group Questions:

Icebreakers:

  1. What’s something you’ve done that started small but turned out bigger than expected? (Could be a recipe, a project, a conversation, etc.)
  2. If you had to cook a meal over a campfire, what would you make?

  3. What’s a hobby or skill you have that others might not know about?

Discussion Questions:

1. The Power of Saying “Yes”

  • Living Proof church started with “no plans—just a yes.”
What does it look like in your life to say “yes” to God without all the answers?
Have you ever obeyed God with little clarity and seen Him move?

2. Living Beyond Sunday

  • The speaker said, “Too many are losing battles because their walk with God is more of a Sunday experience than an all-week lifestyle.”
What helps you walk closely with God during the week?
What tends to pull you away from that connection?

3. Faith Like a Basket

  • Moses’ mother built a basket with nothing but faith.
What’s your “basket” right now—something you’re doing that feels risky but obedient?
What’s stopping you from stepping out in faith in an area God’s nudging you?

4. The Invisible War

  • This series is called The Invisible War.
What are some battles you’ve faced lately that others might not see?
How can we encourage each other in the battles that happen in our hearts and minds?

5. Weakness, Help, and Surrender

  • God didn’t remove Moses’ weakness—He sent help.
What’s a weakness in your life that keeps you dependent on God?
Have you seen God use your weakness or wounds for His glory?

6. Breaking the Yoke

  • The sermon said Jesus didn’t die so we could carry old chains.
Is there something (shame, pride, sin, fear) you’ve grown used to carrying that God might be asking you to surrender?
What would it look like for you to leave that yoke behind today?

Closing Reflection:

“Obedience isn’t about outcomes. It’s about trust.”
Where is God asking you to trust Him right now—regardless of the outcome?
