Day 3 – Tuesday
Repenting from Envy
Read: Psalm 38:1-22
Envy promises you will be happy once you have what others have, but it only delivers weight.
David describes the rotting effect of his sin:
“My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear.” – Ps 38:4
Envy rots us from the inside out. It makes us carry the heavy, exhausting backpack of comparison.
Jesus invites us to put it down and find joy in what we have already been given.
Repent
Where have I harbored envy, resentment, or jealousy over someone else’s life, success, or possessions?
Reflect
Hold something heavy in your hands for a moment while you pray.
Then set it down as a symbol of surrendering your comparison.
Receive
Matthew 11:28 – Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
