Session 4 invites you to slow down and learn how to truly listen for your Word of the Year. Rooted in the ancient practice of the Shema, this session explores the biblical truth that hearing God is never passive—when we hear, we respond. Growth happens as we allow our Word to shape not just what we think, but how we live, learning to hold together both listening and obedience as part of the same rhythm.
In this session, you’ll be introduced to four simple, life-giving practices—study, prayer, meditation, and contemplation—that help you “hear” your Word throughout the year. Rather than adding pressure or complexity, Session 4 helps you notice where God is already speaking and gently invites you to pay attention. You’ll leave with an approachable, grace-filled practice to begin listening for your Word in Scripture, prayer, and everyday life, trusting that God is forming you as you stay attentive to His voice.
Session 4 teaches you how to listen for your Word and recognize God’s voice at work in everyday life.
