Step Into A Net!
Are you part of the Missions Network? Being a missionary is God's call to all Christians. But that doesn't always mean He will send everyone to a far-off land. His Great Commission can be carried out anywhere we are, at any given time. Becoming part of one of the Mission Networks can be one of the most important responsibilities we can fulfill right here at home when groups of believers come together to pray for the needs of missionaries in regions they represent. There are six different Networks, and they usually meet about once a month in individuals' homes. If you sense God wants your involvement in a Network, examine the descriptions of these groups below and prayerfully settle on one of them.

More on Missions in Africa * News

AfricaNet meets one Monday night a month at 7:00 at Barbara Kuklenski's home. The African continent is probably the most culturally diverse. There are more than 3000 ethnic groups and more than 1000 languages.

Missionaries in African include the Bramletts in Cameroon. In Kenya, there are the Kimaros, Kingsburys, and Maxwells.

Some answers to prayer over the years for Africa have been the peaceful ending to apartheid in South Africa, the spectacular growth of Evangelicals since 1900, and countries experiencing exceptional growth of Evangelicals in the 1990's, such as Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Algeria among many others.

Missionaries in Asia are the Chu family, the Flanery family, Curtis and Mei-lin Jones in Hong Kong. Mark, Sue, and the Pizzutellis are in China. The Koehlers are in India.

Answers to prayer for Asia have been the amazing growth that has occurred in some countries the establishment of some churches in lands long sealed off from Christian work, the maturation of the South Korean church in the last century, the increase of Muslim background believers.

AuspacNet
More on Missions in Australia - Pacific Rim * News

AuspacNet - until someone steps forward to take this network, Pastor David's group is covering it. Members include the Pacific Rim and the islands situated in it. The church in these countries is diverse. Australia is suffering with secularism and materialism, the Philippines and Singapore are experiencing revival, Vietnam is in the midst of persecution and Thailand is stagnant.

Missionaries include the Denningtons in Taiwan, Sandy Gould and Joni in Vietnam, and the Mendelsohns in Australia.

LatinNet
More on Missions in Latin America * News

LatinNet meets one Thursday night a month at 7:00 at the home of David and Merejo Dussair. This network includes Central and South America, Mexico, and the Islands of the Caribbean. There has been rapid growth of missions vision in Latin America. Cuba has enjoyed a resurgence of Christianity in the 1990's and achievements of Bible translation have been outstanding. In some areas the work of translation is close to completion.

Missionaries in Latin America are the Kieffabers in Mexico, the Krisztali family in Bolivia, and Bill and Debbie Rupe in Mexico.

EuroNet
More on Missions in Europe * News

EuroNet meetings are at the home of Woflgang and Betty Jo Simon, one Sunday evening a month, at 5:00.

Our European missionaries are Mike and Brenda Costello in Hungary, Joe and Judi Portale in Switzerland, the Swank family in Scotland, and the Wright family in France.

Of course, the most obvious answer to prayer was the fall of the Iron Curtain. Other encouraging developments have been the decade of peace in the 1990's over Europe and there have been specific people movements to Christ in the past 10 years with the Bulgarians and Albanians as examples. Major impact has been made through Christian radio and television, as well.

USNet
More on Missions in the United States of America * News

USNet - Our own homeland. It's incredible that a country founded on Christian principles could stray so far off God's path. But sadly, foreign countries are actually sending missionaries to the United States. To quote the "Missions Exploits" magazine

"The spiritual heritage of the USA is steadily being eroded - its loss would impoverish the world ... there is a great challenge for commitment among Christians. Lack of it has had devastating consequences - a respect of the Bible without knowledge of or obedience to its contents and an interest in religion without holiness to recommend it."

At present, no one has taken on this network. Our missionaries here in teh U.S. have a daunting task ahead of them. But God is bigger than any obstacle that stands in His way.

U.S. missionaries include Roland and Carolyn Ashby in Texas, Ted and Suzanne Field in Hawaii, Brian and Kathy Moyer in Florida, Rachel (Kieffaber) Bloss in Florida, Shay and Ty Lewis in Texas, Dan Sherman in Oregon, Evan Smith in California, and the Traver family in Tennessee.

The convenience of the Internet has provided an excellent tool for staying in contact with many of our missionaries around the world. Needs are realized with a keyboard and the simple click of a mouse.

Meeting dates, time, and the address of meeting places, are always listed in the weekly church bulletin.

If you or someone you know, is interested in becoming a Network sponsor or interested in becoming a part of the network, you may contact Missions Pastor David Jones at 913-631-1100
